January’s “Business After Hours” celebration
hosted by the 6th Street Cinema
The Sixth Street Cinema, located at 4994 6th Street (in the old Masonic Building), hosted January’s “Business After Hours” celebration on Tuesday, January 24, 2006. Several people, along with new members of the Chamber, attended this entertaining mixer. Delicious homemade soups and bread were served along with a variety of fresh-baked, organic cookies. Guests gathered in the Theatre Room to view a short, but hilarious film. Give them a call at 966-1333 and check out what films are coming up. The theatre seating is very comfortable. It has a coffeehouse style and feels like you are in a big living room watching a movie with good friends.

Time to Update… It’s that time of the year again! Chamber Members need to update the Business Card Rack and Business Flyer Racks in the Mariposa County Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center Lobby. Please stop by and check to see if the cards and flyers, from your business that we have on display, are current. We can use more business flyers, current restaurant menus, lodging rack cards, brochures, announcements or any information you would like the public and our visitors to be aware of. If you have any questions or for more information, please call Don Haag, Visitor Center Office Manager, at (209) 966-2456. Thank you |

A Message from Your President… Chamber Moves into High Gear! In January, we kicked off the year with plans to make much needed changes and improvements to the Chamber organization to improve your business in our County. Well, you’re wondering, what have we done so far? In just 5 weeks we have developed the skeleton framework for our new website that is targeted for launch in June 2006. To bring our community a dynamic website engenders a lot of base building work. Our team is very excited with the developments we’ve accomplished in so short a time. Details about the actual structure and format will be forthcoming. Our Public Relations Department, under the name of “Ambassadors”, is ready to hit the streets with members meeting you face-to-face for your comments and suggestions. This will also be an opportunity for you to know what the Chamber is all about and how it benefits your business. In the works...the much needed improvements for the Chevron Chamber sign that directs visitors to your business in our County; the reformation of the Coulterville Visitor’s Center; the implementation of the sponsorship program; visiting the surrounding communities for your business neighborhood input and information; 2 new computers at the Chamber office; plus more! Stay tuned for future updates and events! Finally, I encourage you to contact me personally with your comments, suggestions and yes, even complaints are welcome. I can be contacted at my business at 966-4545. Sincerely, Lauri Kanarowski, Mariposa County Chamber of Commerce President
