Mariposa County Chamber of Commerce held its quarterly Luncheon on Thursday, January 26, 2006.  Attending guests met in the meeting room of Happy Burger Diner at 11:45 a.m. to be informed of advertising opportunities from our guest speaker, Jean Western (pictured left).  Jean is the Director of Sales with Citadel Broadcasting Company (which houses radio stations such as 104.1 The Hawk and others).  Jean gave the public great ideas on how to advertise our businesses through radio broadcasting and how our minds visualize the ads we hear on the radio.  If your business is interested in advertising with this company, please contact Jean Western at (209) 766-5000, ext. 106 or Email jean.western@citcomm.com.  We also honored January’s Business of the Month, The Ashworth House Bed & Breakfast.  (Owners Joyce and Ace are pictured right accepting their plaque and banner from Chamber Vice President, Kit O’Shell).  Thank you Happy Burger Diner for providing the meeting room and thank you to everyone who attended this informative luncheon.

Marvin Silver of Silver Fox Winery, accepts the Businessman and Businesswoman of the Year award on behalf of Ed & Linda Uebner from Chamber Director, Jan Mennig.

The Annual Membership and Installation Dinner was held on Saturday, January 28, 2006 at the Best Western Banquet Room. Each year, this dinner honors the Businessman, Businesswoman and Business of the Year for the Mariposa County Chamber of Commerce.  During this event, we also swear in the new Directors and Officers for the Board of Directors of the Chamber.

Paula Henry, owner of Yosemite Medical Supply, accepts the 2005 Business of the Year Award from Chamber Director, Jan Mennig.

The 2005 Businessman and Businesswoman of the Year Award went to Ed and Linda Uebner, owners of Charles Street Dinner House.  Unfortunately, Ed and Linda were unable to attend our dinner due to their previous vacation plans in Hawaii.  Lucky guys!

The 2005 Business of the Year was awarded to Yosemite Medical Supply.  Owner Paula Henry was very honored with this award.  Paula, with the help of her dedicated staff, has been running Yosemite Medical Supply for over 20 years!

Roberto Perez catered a delicious Tri-Tip and chicken dinner along with his special enchiladas, vegetables and carrot cake for dessert.  An auction was held to help fund a new computer for Executive Director, Dorothy Kuhnel
(a special surprise for her when she returned to work).

Attending guests had a great time during this event.  A lot of food and a lot of laughs.

Thank you to everyone who helped making this dinner a success.  See you next year!
